How do I add or edit chores?

#chores#tasks#add#edit#delete#dashboard#manage tasks

Adding chores

You can add a chore in three ways:

1. From the dashboard — Tap + Add a Chore on the left panel. The Add Chore modal opens: enter a Title (required) and an optional Description, then tap Add Chore. Use Add another if you want to add more in one go.

2. From the Chores tab — On the Chore Command Centre (where you see “Start a New Home” and your list of homes), find your home’s card and tap Manage on it. Open the Chores tab. In the Task Command Center panel, type New chore title and Optional description, then tap + Add.

3. From the owner’s details panel — Tap your member card (e.g. your name with Details). In the details panel, tap Manage Tasks. The Task Command Center opens—same as above: New chore title, Optional description, then + Add.

Chores appear on the list for everyone. Only the home owner can add, edit, or delete chores.

Editing and removing chores

Editing and removing chores happens in the Task Command Center. You can open it in either of these ways:

  • Manage → Chores tab — On the Chore Command Centre, find your home’s card and tap Manage, then the Chores tab. The Task Command Center panel shows all chores.
  • Owner’s details panel — Tap your member card and Details, then Manage Tasks. The same Task Command Center opens.

In the Task Command Center, each chore has Edit, Reset, and Delete buttons.

Use Edit to change the title, description, or assignees. Leave assignees empty for an open chore, assign one person, or assign several helpers to the same job.

Use Reset to clear a chore’s completion for the current reset period, and Delete to remove it. Tick Show Deleted Tasks if you need to see or restore deleted chores. Only the home owner can edit, reset, or delete chores.

Once you’ve assigned chores, filter pills (avatars + counts) can appear above the list. Tap one to show chores assigned to that person.

You can also use Chore roulette → Assign a chore from the dashboard to pick an unassigned chore and choose who gets it. See Chore roulette — pick versus assign.

Chores stay shared: anyone who does the work can tap their avatar and mark it done. Assignments set expectations; completions credit the person who actually did it. Detailed assign/unassign steps: How do I assign or unassign chores?.
